Ultra Wide Monitor 29 Inch

Is 29 inch monitor too small?

I've been browsing this sub for a few days and i only see photos of these $1000 displays that are too expensive for me. I wanted to pick up an 29 inch LG ultrawide monitor with an 2560x1080 resolution but i'm afraid it'll be wide and kinda short. Does any of you have a display of that size? How does really look?

My reason for buying the LG29UM69G instead of a 34" was because the PPI really drops on the big ones.

2560x1080 on 34" gets grainy even at 60cm away (my desk is 80cm wide). 29 inch hits the sweet spot with 93 PPI. If I bought a 34" i wouldve definitly bought a 1440p or higher (if these UW's become available anytime).

I've got the LG 29" 29UM68, I thought the same as you. In theory it's 2x 23" monitors smooshed together. You loose a bit of height but I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything! got mine in the UK for £260 which is a bargain for the res.

Thanks! It actually looks real good.

Depends on how far you sit from the monitor and what you're used to. I've always had a 23" 16:9. I decided to try a 27" 16:9 monitor and I found that too large, even though it was only 4" bigger than what I was used to.

I ended up getting a 29" ultrawide and I find it's perfect for me.

If you're only used to 24"~ displays, it's an easy transition, and doesn't feel too small.

The display height sometimes feels a little limiting, but it's exactly the same as a regular 24" display.

I recently purchased the 29UM58 and it's a fantastic size. I'd love a 34" one, but I don't think I could justify spending $1000~ on a display. Even more so now that the 29" is a good size.

I've got a 19 inch 900p display right now so it will be propably more then enough :D

I wasn't sure if I would like the 29" LG UW when I got it. But I really ended up liking it a lot.

It is, for the money, awesome. the colors and black levels are great. Mine had very little almost no corner glow.

Plus 2560x1080 is easier to max out your GPU.

I'm actually using a 25" LG Ultrawide and the size never bothered me.

My desk is relatively small so I don't have much length to fit a larger monitor, and due to the lack of width, I sit closer to the monitor as well. Unless you have a lot of space to fill, I recommend just sticking with the 29".
